Glow Recipe has such amazing products, their avocado sleeping mask and the watermelon sleeping mask are stunning. Recently, they came out with the Glow Recipe Pineapple C-Brightening Serum and I wanted to try it out. Unfortunately, it did not work for me and I was really hoping it would.
The Glow Recipe Pineapple-C Brightening serum is a potent, lightweight Vitamin C and AHA serum concentrated with smoothing pineapple juice and hyaluronic acid to brighten and even tone. The packaging is literally the cutest. The ingredients present are beneficial to the skin in numerous ways. The Pineapple Juice helps to create the look of bright, smooth, and hydrated skin. The pineapple is a natural source of vitamin C, AHA, and bromelain enzymes. There’s Vitamin C present which brightens the skin and provides antioxidants. Chamomile calms and soothes the skin, creating a gentle formula for sensitive skin. It has a strong pineapple smell, I can’t say it’s bad but it just bothers me a little. It is said to target dullness and uneven texture along with dryness.
What happened to my skin
First of all,
It is definitely not for people with sensitive skin. Glow Recipe Pineapple-C Bright Serum has bromelain enzymes from pineapples which
It is said that bromelain should suit all skin types, but it also largely depends on all sorts of factors, such as end concentration in the product (in higher concentrations bromelain may be irritating to the skin and not suitable for sensitive skin), other ingredients in the product and the base formulation. I feel like since the serum has a deep concentration of pineapple juice, it is not ideal for dry skin.
I can see myself using this maybe once a week maybe but as a treatment instead of a serum. And I’d only use it where I really, really needed it. I really think Glow Recipe is a trustworthy brand that makes quality products and the product is not suitable for dry, sensitive skin. The serum is absolutely amazing for oily and normal skin. However, if you still wanted to give it a try, I recommend using it with a hyaluronic serum to get the maximum benefits minus the flaky skin.
Let me know your experience with the serum if you have used it.
